Editorial standards
AsAgreed publishes guidance that can affect significant financial decisions. These are the standards we hold our content to.
How we choose topics
We write to answer real questions new-car buyers ask before contacting a dealer — pricing, fees, VIN-specific buying, negotiation, and comparing offers. We improve an existing page when it already owns a question rather than publishing a near-duplicate.
How we verify facts
Every numerical, legal, or regulatory claim is checked against a primary source before publication. We prefer official sources: the Federal Trade Commission, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, state departments of revenue and motor vehicles, and manufacturer documentation. We do not rely solely on anonymous blogs, dealer marketing, or AI-generated summaries.
How we label estimates
Calculators and market figures are clearly labeled as estimates. We distinguish observed data, user-reported inputs, and estimated values, and we show an 'insufficient data' result rather than inventing a number when reliable inputs are missing.
How commercial relationships are disclosed
AsAgreed is a commercial platform. Pages may link to AsAgreed products (DealCheck, the agreement flow). We disclose this plainly and never disguise marketing as independent editorial or as user reviews.
How AI tools are used
AI tools may assist with research, structure, and drafting. No page is published directly from an AI model without human review. A member of the AsAgreed editorial team verifies claims, sources, and numbers before anything goes live.
Authorship and review
Guides and tools are produced by the AsAgreed Editorial Team. We do not invent individual automotive experts. When specialist review has occurred, we name the reviewer and their real credentials; otherwise content is attributed to the editorial team.
How we handle corrections
If we get something wrong, we correct it and note material corrections. To report an error, email us — the contact is on every page footer. We do not change a review date merely to make old content appear fresh.
How pages are updated
Time-sensitive pages show a published date and a last-reviewed date. We re-review pricing, fee, and regulatory content periodically and when we become aware of a material change.
