Buyer Terms
Last updated June 2026
These terms explain how you submit offers, how the Commitment Fund works, and what you can expect when a dealer responds.
This is a plain-language summary for the product preview. Final, legally binding terms are subject to counsel review before launch.
1. What AsAgreed is
AsAgreed is a buyer-driven car marketplace. You bring the exact VIN of the car you want, submit the terms you're prepared to accept, and back your request with a Commitment Fund. Dealers may accept, counter, or decline. AsAgreed is not a dealer, lender, broker, or party to any vehicle sale or lease.
2. Submitting an offer
You are responsible for the accuracy of the car details, terms, and information you submit. Offers should reflect terms you genuinely intend to honor. Submitting offers you do not intend to complete may result in account suspension and may put your Commitment Fund at risk.
3. The $500 Commitment Fund
When you submit an agreement, you place a $500 Commitment Fund — a refundable hold used to verify buyer intent. It is held by AsAgreed, is not disbursed to the dealer, and is not held in escrow between you and the dealer. It is not a fee, commission, deposit, or revenue to AsAgreed. Funds remain refundable pursuant to the terms below.
Your Commitment Fund is protected and returned when:
- No dealer accepts your offer.
- You withdraw your request before a dealer accepts.
- A dealer changes the accepted terms.
- The dealer no longer has access to the car.
- The car materially differs from what was represented.
- Financing is legitimately unavailable.
- An admin resolves a dispute in your favor.
Your Commitment Fund may be at risk when:
- A dealer accepts your exact submitted terms and you refuse to engage.
- You unlock a match and then stop responding in good faith.
- You acknowledge you were not a serious buyer.
- An admin resolves a dispute in the dealer's favor.
During the product preview, no forfeiture is automated. Disputes are reviewed by an AsAgreed admin.
4. Anonymity and matching
Dealers see only an anonymous Buyer ID, your region, credit band, timeline, deal terms, and Commitment Fund status. Your name, email, and phone number are never shared until you choose to unlock a match. All communication before a match happens through the AsAgreed platform. After a match unlocks, both sides proceed to final paperwork off-platform.
5. Optional match service charge
Separately from the Commitment Fund, AsAgreed may, in the future, apply a small optional service charge after a dealer accepts and you choose to unlock the match. This is an AsAgreed service charge, not part of the Commitment Fund. Any such charge will be clearly disclosed before you confirm, and it is disabled by default. Final terms are pending legal review before launch.
6. Eligibility and good faith
You must be legally able to complete the transaction in your jurisdiction. You agree to use AsAgreed in good faith and not to circumvent the platform to avoid the Commitment Fund or match process.
